Sakal Times

A host of star kids are making their Bollywood debut recently. Joining the list is Sharmin Segal, niece of Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is also making her acting debut. The newbie, daughter of film editor Bela Segal and Deepak, will be launched by SLB under his home production. She will be cast opposite Javed Jaffrey’s son Meezaan.

Not many know that Sharmin’s grandfather Mohan Segal had launched Rekha with the film Saawan Bhaadon. “Sharmin has earlier worked as an assistant director with Bhansali Productions on Mary Kom and Bajirao Mastani. She has been prepping for over a year for her debut. She has studied acting for over nine months at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles before auditioning for the role,” says a source.
The film produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mahaveer Jain will be directed by Mangesh Hadawale.
